Lotsa Helping Hands

There are times when there is a need for help in our Temple community. Sometimes the need is dire and a matter of urgency; sometimes the need is temporary; and sometimes we just need a way to communicate with each other to ask for assistance in ordinary day-to-day community matters. Temple members feel a sense of compassion and seriously want to help, but often don’t know what to do.

The Chesed Committee has partnered with Lotsa Helping Hands, a nationwide program that is being adapted specifically for Temple Emanu-El, to provide ways that we can lend a helping hand to our friends, to our neighbors, to our community – ways that will be truly meaningful and will make a difference in their lives and, in so doing, will enrich our own. Even if we can’t devote huge blocks of time because of our own families, our jobs, our pre-existing commitments, we will find ways that can still engage with others’ needs and will result overall in strengthening our community as a kehilah kedosha – a holy community, one in which kindness, empathy, and chesed are principles that we live by and act by. Lotsa Helping Hands will enable our members to be aware of the needs of others in the community and allow them to select when and how they can help.

We ask that all Temple Emanu-El members create a personal login to Lotsa Helping Hands (your name, email address, your selected password). See below for instructions, then click to log in.
