Frequently Asked Questions

How often do you have services?
We have Shabbat morning services at 9:30 am in the Wise Chapel each Saturday when no b'nei mitzvah in scheduled. On weeks when a b'nei mitzvah is scheduled, services are held in the Sanctuary at 9:30 am. Please see the calendar for scheduled Friday night services.

How many clergy does Temple Emanu-El have?
Cantor Vera Broekhuysen is the spiritual leader of Temple Emanu-El. Rabbi Ira Korinow is rabbi emeritus of Temple Emanu-El.

How many members does Temple Emanu-El  have?
We currently have 170 families.

What do I get for my membership dues?
Membership includes High Holy Day tickets, adult education programs, Torah study, Israel Chavurah, book club, makheila (choir), Chanukah Party, and more. In addition, our cantor, rabbi, staff, and members will be there to support you through life's challenges and joys. Your dues also support our synagogue and the great programs we offer. Our members find they get back much more than they pay for. 

How do I join Temple Emanu-El ?
Call our Temple office 978.373.3861 and ask to speak with Executive Administrator Lisa Anthony or email her at office@TempleEmanu-El.org. You can also download the membership form here.

What if I can't afford membership dues?
First year membership is FREE for new members with stepped increases for the two years thereafter. For those needing additional assistance, we have a dues adjustment process based upon economic necessity. Contact Executive Director Nancy Lafleur (978.373.3861 or
office@TempleEmanu-El.org). No one will be turned away due to their inability to pay.
